Syncro Upper Control Arm ‘play’ adjustment re Bentley

Bentley says, “A maximum play of 0.5mm (0.020”) is allowable on each side between the bonded rubber bushing in the control arm and the eccentric washer when the bolt is loosened.”
Back when the eccentric washers were available from the dealer in various thicknesses one could mix and match eccentric washers to get the desired amount of play.

I couldn’t find eccentric washers in the thicknesses I needed (Peter at Van-Café has one thickness) so I had some little spacers made up to get the ‘play’ down to about 0.005” between each eccentric washer and bonded rubber bushing.

Has anyone else gone that route? Any possible drawbacks? Note: image with control arm on van shows pre-spacer clearance.
